About Me
What does society tell me to be?
Because I am in theatre and because I love acting, I am told to constantly be social and willing to do monologues or songs from musicals just because I like them. Because I am a teenager, there are very contradictory stereotypes. I am supposed to focus on school, but also get a job so I’m not a freeloader. I’m supposed to be mature yet “act my age”. I am supposed to want to go to college and get a degree in something, but it has to be something practical. Not an arts degree or anything fun like that.
Who are you really?
I am actually worried 24/7. I have depression and I have downs and I get sad and feel hopeless. I get anxiety. I like being alone more than being out, unless I’m with my friends. I’m talented and smart and kind and caring. I am artistic and creative. I like to think I’m funny, but my friends might disagree.
Who do you want to be?
I want to be a teacher. I love helping people and teaching. I want to be well known for the good things I do. I want to be remembered for the amazing things I have. I want to be loved and I want to love. I want to be understood.
